Our Next Service: Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 9:30 amDon Miller will be leading the service.The service topic this Sunday is Unforeseen Circumstances: Living an Unpredictable Life. As the service leader, it is my intention that this be a very participatory event. To that end, the following is an introduction to what we will be contemplating: We live and make plans based on assumptions and we have an expectation that, with obvious exceptions, our actions will create predictable reactions. But what if the results we create are different than we intended and/or expected? What if our assumptions prove to be unreliable or wrong? If we are less in control of our lives than we thought, should we stop planning? If the answer is to live more “in the moment”, how do we do so without giving up on attaining a positive future for ourselves and our loved ones? How do we plan on living an unpredictable life? I invite you to come prepared with an example from your own lives where you made a good faith effort to accomplish something and the result was not at all what you expected. How did that affect you? How did that affect your life? If you have kids who are old enough to understand this concept, how about asking them if such an event happened in their lives that they wish to share as well.
