               The MMUUF Meeting House...

For 14 years, the Mount Mansfield Unitarian Universalist Fellowship has held Sunday services in the Jericho Elementary School. In June of 2009, this changed! After much meeting and discussion and a massive Capital Campaign we bought and began the renovation of a 19th century barn on Route 15 in Jericho, the former home of Mrs. B's Barn gift shop.

Immediately after purchase, the 2009 Summer of Renovation (led by Dana Baron and John Hemmelgarn) was undertaken by the Fellowship. Renovations that summer included:

  • insulating and 'closing off' the second floor
  • construction of three RE classrooms (name1, name2, name3)
  • construction of the temporary sanctuary (eventually the sanctuary will be located on the 2nd floor -- see plans below)
  • construction the Nursery, 2 bathrooms and a utilities room.

The Future...

Phase Two of our renovation will focus on the Meeting House's second floor loft :

A large sanctuary in the second floor hayloft.

Eventual renovations to the second floor will include:

  • Expansive worship area with flexible seating for 150
  • Large window with dramatic view of Mount Mansfield.
  • Lofty ceiling with exposed beams.
