Our Committees

Much of the work of making MMUUF run smoothly is done by our committees. Here you will find a brief description of each. If you are interested in joining a committee, contact us at the addresses below.

The Worship Committee

The Worship Committee meets regularly to plan the worship calendar, select and invite guest service leaders, work with service leaders to ensure that services go smoothly, and occasionally plan services. The meetings were warm, friendly and productive. The Committee welcomes your input and feedback. To lead a service, or to suggest service topics, service leaders, or future themes, please contact us.

The Religious Education Committee

The RE Committee oversees our RE program. It is responsible for long range planning and goal setting, curriculum direction and hiring of the staff. The committee meets every other month, and runs one fellowship-wide meeting a year. Parents and other fellowship members are encouraged to serve on this important committee.

The Publicity Committee

The Publicity Committee is responsible for letting people know about MMUUF. It places information in newspapers, distributes posters and special events mailings, and is responsible for the upkeep of our website.

The Music Committee

The Music Committee, also known as The Last Minute Choir is a small group of singers and musicians that provides music for all the MMUUF services. It also occasionally performs at community events. They rehearse once a week at a member's home, and on Sunday mornings right before the service. They choose appropriate music to fit the theme of the service, and their tastes are eclectic, ranging from folk to blues and spirituals to popular music. Membership in the LMC is open to everyone - all you need is a love of music and a desire to spend some quality time with a fun group of people.

The Steering Committee

The MMUUF Steering Committee is responsible for the day-to-day operations and long range planning for the Fellowship. It consists of the four elected officers - President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer and representatives of the standing committees - Worship, Religious Education, and Publicity. The Steering Committee generally meets monthly throughout the year.

The Sacred Space Committee

The ad hoc Sacred Space Committee was officially formed at the MMUUF Annual Meeting in June, 2005. It was charged with the task of seeking alternative space for the Fellowship and reporting back with a list of options by October, 2005.

The Capital Campaign Committee

The ad hoc Capital Campaign Committee was also formed at the MMUUF Annual Meeting in June, 2005. It was charged with the task of researching grants, loans, and other funding sources that may be available for financing new space.
